Have you wondered what is happening with the kangaroos at the new Kaarakin site, previously occupied by the old Cohunu Wildlife Park on Mills Rd?
The site is now the home of the Black Cockatoo Rehabilitation Centre Rescue Society and the roos are being fed and cared for with the generous help of private individuals and volunteers which make up Wildlife Australia Inc.
There are forty six Western grey kangaroos and seventeen Red kangaroos, plus a number of Queensland Swamp Wallabies to care for. They are in great need of ongoing funding to meet feed bills and ongoing veterinarian bills of more than $200 each week. Without donations their future is uncertain. A veterinarian team is supporting our efforts to sterilise the adult males and growing juveniles. The second phase has just been completed.
We need your help in this venture in the heart of our community.
You can make a donation online from this website, here .
You are invited to view Black Cockatoos being raised and rehabilitated aswell as the kangaroos, wallabies, dingos , emus and many other birds that flock to the waterways within the park.
